We’re thrilled to announce that three exceptional members of our NSW Public Safety Team have been recognised at the 2026 Australasian Women in Emergencies Network (AWE) Recognition Awards.

Sheryll Aquino, Marnelle Dalumpines and Laura Taberner have been honoured for their outstanding leadership, innovation and impact in emergency management and disaster resilience. These qualities are fundamental to keeping the NSW Public Safety Network (PSN) running when communities need it most.

About the AWE Awards

The Australasian Women in Emergencies Network was established in 2018 to champion the contributions of women in the emergency management and disaster resilience sector across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. The annual Recognition Awards celebrate excellence in leadership, service, innovation and impact across the region.

Emergency Management and Disaster Resilience Practice

Over eight years of dedicated service, Sheryll and Marnelle have demonstrated exceptional operational judgement during critical incidents and major emergency events across the PSN. Their calm precision and strategic management of multiple, geographically dispersed sites have been instrumental during challenging conditions, including our response to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Knowledge and Capability Development

Laura has been instrumental in strengthening emergency management expertise across our Public Safety and Broadcast operations. Beyond her role with BAI Communications, she volunteers with the NSW SES, using that experience to guide our customers in prioritising the right actions for their networks.
