What 5G means to a neutral host operator | An interview with TelecomTV

BAI Communications

BAI Communications  is shaping the future of shared infrastructure and wireless solutions in Australia.

Brendan O’Reilly, Group Chief Technology Officer, BAI Communications discusses the 5G market and how the company is planning to bring 5G coverage to the extensive London Underground subway system.

In this discussion with Ray Le Maistre, Editorial Director, Telecom TV, Brendan explains how a neutral host provider actually builds a network to meet multiple stakeholder needs. This translates into being able to meet the requirements of all the operators.

On the technology that will be deployed to deliver the London Underground project, Brendan explains that a lot of the technology already exists.

“What we want to build is an ecosystem whereby the operators have the flexibility to chose the vendors that they want to work with. With OpenRan on the horizon, we absolutely want to make sure that technology and that ecosystem can be used on the infrastructure that we’re building. We’re constantly evolving our thinking to ensure that our customers, the operators can deliver to their customers, the experience that they want to.”
