We’re thrilled to share that our Broadcasting Resilience Program in partnership with the Australian Government has received an Honourable Mention at the prestigious Project Management Institute Project of the Year Awards 2025, placing us among the top five projects globally in the Construction/Infrastructure category.
The program’s achievements speak for themselves:
• Project completion at 98 critical broadcast sites, across 131 individual projects
• 813,000+ Australians now have enhanced emergency broadcasting protection
• 1,331 hours of standby power delivered during real emergencies
• The $20 million government funding and $5.6 million network reinvestment capital was completed and closed out on-time in May 2025.
As our CEO Peter Lambourne noted, “Every hour of uninterrupted emergency broadcasting can make a difference between safety and uncertainty.” Projects like this remind us why we do what we do – building the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities across Australia.
The Project Management Institute’s Project of the Year Awards are the pinnacle of project management excellence worldwide, recognising people making the world better and brighter, one project at a time. To be acknowledged among the top five projects globally reflects the calibre of our team and the significance of our work.
This milestone is particularly meaningful for BAI Communications. While we previously won Australian PMI awards in 2014, this marks our first global recognition, showcasing our development as a world-class infrastructure delivery organisation.
Congratulations to all PMI award winners and finalists. Here’s to continuing our mission of making Australia more resilient through shared infrastructure.
